It is extremely hot and humid in the Bahamas. I have arrived at Nassau Airport on the Island New Providence. I am renting a small car, a toyota to drive around from Paradise Island to New Providence. I am staying at the Atlantis Hotel/Royal Towers. My night stay here will cost around $ 25,000. YES PRICEY. I arrived at my hotel and settled in and went for a swim in the pools. Then I decided to swim with some dolphoins at Dolphin Cay Atlantis. It was shallow swim, it involved hugging, kissing and petting but no swimming. The swimming came with the deep swim which I did not go on. I payed 140 dollars to do this. After this I went to go eat at my hotel and go to sleep for the rest of night.
The next day I woke up and heard about a glass bottom boat tour. It was 55 dollars and it included,a 4 hour cruise, snorkling, stopping off at beaches, unlimited cocktails and snacks. Then after that I decided to go on another tour called the water sports cruise. I got to go parasailing, ride on a bananas boat, stop off and explore some more beaches and have some more snacks. I was stuffed. Not a good combination for a boat ride.
Then it started to get around sunset and I decided I would go horseback riding on the beach with the company Beach Horse riding. This was worth $110 a person.
Then I headed back to Atlantis to stay the night and rest up for a long day of going to look at museums and statues.
When I woke up I drove my little toyota over to the The Pompey Museum of Slavery & Emancipation on Nassau. This house now a museum used to be a slave auction house. It was very interesting. Next I went to Bay Street located right next the last museum I went to and this is the main street in Nassau. It has many interesting shops and stores which I explored. Next I went to Parliment Square. There was a statue of Queen Victoria situated in the center, this square is where most of Nassau's main government buildings can be found. I went back to my hotel to eat a small dinner on the beach and then went to sleep.
The next day I went to Conception Island. This island was really interesting because the endangered green turtle lays its eggs and I was able to some turtles roaming around. I also went scuba diving for my first time. I had a hard time learning how to breath under water but I got the hang of it. It was a really unique spot to go scuba diving. There were a lot of coral reefs.
I was extremely exhausted from scuba diving, it really take the energy out of you. I went back to my hotel and sleep for the night and got ready for my trip to Sri Lanka!
